Friends of the Vision

Come be apart of our next Friends of the Vision series. This three week series will introduce you to: the vision and values of Wave Church, help you discover your God given gifts, our cells and how you can get involved in the life of our church.

WHAT IS A FRIEND OF THE VISION?

The Bible says in Philippians 1:4-5, “In all of my prayers for all of you, I pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” The Apostle Paul, as he was planting and establishing churches, referred to people as partners in the ministry, who were co-laborers in building the local church. If you believe God has called you to partner with Wave Church in the building of His local church, then we would like to partner with you to work together in establishing a strong, healthy, vibrant church.

We will make a commitment to you towards training and developing your gifts and ministries, thereby believing God that you will realize the fullness of your potential.

There is power in unity. In Deuteronomy 32:30, the Bible teaches, “...one will put a thousand to flight but two will put ten thousand to flight.” Psalm 133 says, “...how good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity.” When brethren dwell together in unity, there God will command His blessing. This is what we call of Friend of the Vision.

WHY BECOME A FRIEND OF THE VISION?

The Bible teaches in Ephesians 4:16, “From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Because the body grows as every joint supplies, it is vital that each person feels connected to the body in a tangible and meaningful way. Some might say, “I attend Wave Church and it’s a great church.” A partner would say, “I attend Wave Church and that ‘s my church.” Before anyone is appointed to leadership, it is required that they complete our three-week Friends of the Vision program. We take seriously the responsibility that God has given us of shepherding the people of Wave Church.

Acts 20:28 “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.”

Habakkuk 2:2 “Then the Lord replied: ‘Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.’ ”

2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to show yourself approved.”

HOW DO I BECOME A FRIEND OF THE VISION?

1. Attend the Friends of the Vision class, a three-week program that gives you the opportunity to discover the DNA of Wave Church. You will also receive the opportunity to meet Pastor Steve and Sharon Kelly and other pastoral staff.

  1. CLASS 1: Sharing the Vision and Values of Wave Church.
  2. CLASS 2: Sharing our Statement of Faith.
  3. CLASS 3: Free Market Cells and how or where you may desire to get involved.

2. Choose Wave Church as your local church.

3. Complete the Friends of the Vision questionnaire.
